Purchased in the late 90's in Tucson at the international bead show.

Rubies were considered the king of precious stones during biblical times and highly prized ... though wisdom and virtue exceed them. ;^)
Interesting facts: Rated 9 on the hardness scale, at times rubies have exceeded diamonds in price by 7x. Rubies are from the same corundum family as sapphires.
